Either that, or it wants me to study really hard for my exams.



As mentioned earlier, my Singnet got discontinued as I forgot to sign up for another plan after i cancelled my existing, more expensive internet package.



Ho ho, but i got it back.



And then The Matrix/Heaven/Fate/God strikes back.





Somehow, all the phone line to my home got disconnected. I can't hear a single tone when I try to dial out. And when u attempt to call me, u get connected to a fax machine.

sounds reasonable.



Except that I don't have a fax machine.









They took 2 days to send someone down to the sub-station nearby and rectify the problem.

and another 2 days for a technican to rectify watever problem with my ADSL when I realised that the phone line may be back, but the ADSL doesn't work anymore.



I tell you, the matrix is out to get me.

An annoying guy who was recently employed as a local bank's customer relationship officer managed to destroy the reputation of financial advising.

cherub: customer relationship officer?

neofik: its essentially the same as us.

cherub: they have fixed pay, we don't have lah.

neofik: they sit in office waiting for customers. we go out of office to find clients.

cherub: ooooh. i see. just that they represent banks, we represent insurance corporations lah.

This guy went on to spam mass email all his friends, friendster noticeboards, and god-knows-wat to promote a few investment funds he's selling.



In his email,

There are two investment funds that will earn us a tidy sum of profit which im recommending, since im at XXX Bank of course i got inside info!

Inside info my ass.

Min investment for this one is 5k,but imagine u put 10k for this,return rate will set u jumping for joy!

All joy and no mention of risk. Must be a very good fund.



In 1 email, he swept away the integrity and ethics of a professional financial consultant.

Without doing any proper financial reviews for the buyer and shoving the pure benefits of the investment vehicle right in your face, this guy isn't any better than a vacuum-cleaner salesman.

According to recent news, the financial sector in Singapore is undergoing some reforms and dramatic shakeouts.

About half of the current level of financial advisors will be fired let go.



The old will go, the new will arrive.

For higher standards, higher professionalism. (Less vacuum cleaner salesmen, more real financial advisors)
