Milk & the Nation Press

Sheena, my dearest blodger, this is for you.
I have disappointed her by promising to blog some nights ago, and went to sleep instead...(er, tired lah, sorry kay)

and she said she burst out laughing at arts canteen with her friends when they played the Llama song.

Ok, since you like the llama song so much, I guess u will like this nice breakfast song.

The Milk and Cereal Song!!!

The Original one - Milk and Cereal Song
The Asian one - why we asians everything also wanna copy huh...
The "Master Yoda and the Sasquatch" version - Breakfast, milk and cereal for?
The Flash animation version - yes, I have too much time on my hand....
The poor-quality-but-its-special one - If you notice closely, its only 1 actor. Yup.

Haha, seriously, if you like to do this type of short movie clips and need actors, come find me leh! I think i discussed with yamato before about doing some silly clips one of these days...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Straits Times online, my default homepage, has finally done what I have long suspected since it started its registration drive some months ago.
It is revamping and charging people for access to a more "beefed-up edition", which makes me wonder why the existing online version doesn't contain the full version of the print edition in the first place.
hold the features and extra stuff, then release it together with an increase in price (From $0 to $15 per mth), hence justifying your increase in price.
hmm, in mathematical term, is it not an infinite % increase in price, since the starting price is $0?
This reminds me of years ago, when MacDonald quietly "revamped" the Value meals.
It introduced a range of Winnie the Pooh plush toys to be purchased with a Value meal, meaning that the Value Meal costs more with the bears. After the Winnie promotion ended, the price of the Value meal declined, but not to the lower original price.
Hmmm.......
And the size of the drinks and french fries had been quietly reduced after a similar promotion.
oh well, as mrbrown has put it, the real news is still available free, on the net.
"The world of the Internet has changed the way we consume news and history."
.......
"So as you can see, there is a lot of free stuff online for you to read, especially on Singapore. This Net generation will probably be responsible for documenting Singapore life like it has never been documented before."
Read his article here at Today, which by the way, is still free online or offline.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sigh, I guess I will migrate to www.asiaone.com.sg for free online local news, once Straits Times become a paid-access-only site.
Asiaone is still SPH-owned, so it'll probably be going the way of Straits Times soon, but oh well, what to do, being the stingy frugal guy I am.

Actually, my home does subscribe to the print edition of Straits Times so I guess i'll be saving a lot of electricity soon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since I'm on the topic of the our National Newspaper, i think there is nothing as Anti-StraitsTimes as the BigO.
Surprised? well, I was.
The online version of a rock magazine from Asia happens to be a red hot rebel website, from discussing gigs and musics to criticising the policies of USA, europe. There is plenty of anti-Bush stuff around, just check out the right side of the home page.
There is a section "Reformasi", monitoring Malaysia.
And of course, a "won't get fooled again [till the next boo-boo]" section lambasting the PAP.
won't get fooled again [till the next boo-boo]. how appropriately named. heh.
i really like this poster saluting Straits Times. :P
Paris Hilton, one of my favourite blonde (truly deserving her blonde hair), has been a victim again!
Her T-mobile Sidekick II (a PDA that reads email) was hacked and her pictures and contact information from her it mobile device was released on the internet.
cool.
Hilton Apologises to Celebrity Pals
Hordes of celebrities, including Christina Aguilera, Eminem, Anna Kournikova and Ashley Olsen received hundreds of calls after Hilton's T-Mobile Sidekick was recently hacked.
And yes, there is even a domain website (www.paris-hacked.com) collecting all the information from the hacked device and, all the collected responses from emailing/calling the contact numbers of her celebrity pals. u can hear anna kournikova's recorded response when one of the prankster called her.
and yes, u get to see some not-so-family-friendly photos of her topless, and her doing a lesbian kiss with her female friend.
most of her celebrity friends are so gonna change their mobile numbers, now that their numbers are published.
sigh, i hate u paris, now I have to change my mobile number.
Oil in Singapore: Where the hell is it?
help....
okok..before I explain why I have been missing from the blog scene...let me appeal for help...
I think the desperation of the situation is not emphasised enough.....
HELP!!!!
I'm doing an economic thesis for my final year, and its titled "Oil in Singapore: Past, Present and Future".
Damn ambigious title, I know.
As the title suggest, I will appreciate all kind of data, analysis, readings or whoever/whatever can be obtained about the petroleum industry in Singapore
Petroleum ==> Oil refining, oil blending, oil trading (financial trading included), petrochemical, bunkering, jet fuels, oil-rigs/tankers constructions, oil exploration services, oil retailing, oil spot markets, anything to do with OIL in Singapore.
Any smart alec trying to tell me abt palm oil or peanut oil will have his mobile number transferred to my company's telemarketing department.
Oil, the BLACK GOLD! I need help. Email me here!!
can someone swop in and help me complete start my thesis? I have only 1 more month to go....
BTW, I'm single, tall, dark and handsome presentable, and willing to do anything.
-.-"
Man, I am desperate.
The main reason why I have been absent from the blogging scene is due to my grandfather's death on the 2nd day of Chinese New Year.
Ya, as the eldest grandson, I need to perform many rituals for his funeral, and to be at the wake for the 5 days.
There are many issues for me to blog, from personal feelings and emotions, to musings about chinese culture and values. You do experience some very different forms of emotions and different traditions and rituals regarding Chinese culture, especially when its a death in the family in the middle of Chinese New Year.
Yah, but I never got past the draft mode of blogging. Maybe I'm just collecting my thoughts. Maybe I'm not too sure how should I blog.
I'm too used to blogging nonsenses and funny stuff, suddenly, I'm at a loss in blogging about personal issues.
Or I'm just plain lazy.
Anyone interested to in being a sales promoter for the upcoming IT Show 2005 (10th - 13th March) for Canon Printer/Scanners/AIOs (All-In-Ones), just email me.. My friend is hiring promoters.
Its not a bad job. You get a basic pay and commission on your sales figure.
Plus, you get to know a lot more about printers and scanner technologies, and technical details.
I know, I'm such a nerd.
我猜, 我猜, 我 猜猜猜 is back!
In case u're wondering, she's 楊丞琳. I LOVE THIS TYPE OF HAIR MAH. of course, avid blogders will know that I have a liking for this type of hair.)
At least 2 different pple have msn me immediately after they saw the TV commericals.
Yes, its back on Saturday, 9:30pm.
Prime-time slot leh, mai siao siao....
the irony thing is, I'll probably have to miss more of it, since its easier for me to catch it at late timing such as 11pm plus, rather than prime-time .
Miss concubine is going Taiwan, AGAIN.
This time, she is going with the 4 Seasons Girls.
No, they are not the latest additions to the KTV scene, you dirty old man.
They are the 4 jude babes of economics Honours AY2004/05.
And they are going to watch the 我猜, 我猜, 我 猜猜猜 show "live" in Taiwan.
oh man, I need some guys to go Taiwan with me!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

One of the thing I learnt from the funeral-in-middle-of-CNY is that we chinese are probably the only culture in the world (correct me if I'm wrong) that values money so much in our life.

In happy times.....

Since the start of River HongBao, the giant statue of "Fortune God" has been there every CNY season.
The organiser decided to have a refreshing change last year and errected a statue of a Monkey (last year was Monkey Year) and oh boy, I heard that everyone who met up with the organiser asked him "WHERE'S THE FORTUNE GOD".

Needless to say, the Fortune God is back this year.

Every now and then, the "Fortune God" spews small pieces of "gold" papers with the chinese words for prosperity, and of course, a number at the back for those 4D lottery buyers.

in unhappy times...

And then in death, we have money to come in again as a form of support and condolences for the bereaved family. Known as "white gold" literally in Mandarin, its a part of our Chinese traditions to give this white gold when paying respect during the wake.

And yes, the Chinese underworld is very money-oriented as well.

we burn lots of paper wealth for our deceased grandfather.
It was tons and tons of "gold" and "silver". We burnt a "car", a grand "manison" that comes with maids, additional cars, and many many boxes of treasures.
almost every ritual involved the burning of some "gold" or "silver".
for the entire 5 days of wake, one has to continually burn "gold" or "silver" at this basin next to the coffin, one at a time, to ease the transition to the underworld.

even in this grieving times, I find it amusing that living chinese singaporeans like to think about wealth and riches.
yes, I'm talking abt the never-ending quest for 4D and Toto lottery numbers.

Yup, the license plate of the paper cars.
the license plate of the Funeral Car on the day of burial.
the license plate of MY CAR which was used to lead the funeral procession.

OK, I must admit, i bought 4D of these numbers too. :P
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And no, I never tio toto or 4D. Damnit.
the show must go on.
You may be wondering....where had Cherub disappeared?
I used to have a simple blog, in which I blogged continuously about my pathetic life.
there was nothing good to read.
Its just complains and whines about my life.
i hate it.
i ended the blog, and start a new blog. again.
it wasn't too long before it spiralled downwards in a never ending cycle of depression.
by the time i climbed and stood up, I promised myself that I shalll write only happy, cheeful stuff in my blog.
if there is depressing stuff, the blog stops.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

and yes, thanks for the concern.

and the people who cheer me up continuously, asking me to be as cheeful and entertaining as my blog.

its nice to know tat i'm raunchy. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And now to cheer you readers up, here is a few favourite songs of mine.
my personal old favourite, been hearing this song quite a tad.
1) The Llama song! (click here)
Here's a llama, there's a llama
and another little llama
fuzzy llama, funny llama,
llama llama duck
llama llama cheese cake llama
tablet brick potatoe llama
llama llama mushroom llama
llama llama duck
I was once a treehouse, i lived in a cake
but i never saw the way
the orange slayed the rank. (?)
I was only 3 years dead,
but it told a tale
and now listen little child
to the safety rail
did you ever see a llama,
kiss a llama, on the llama
llama's llama
tastes of llama
llama llama duck
half a llama, twice a llama
not a llarma, farmer llarma,
llarma in a car, alarm a llama
llama llama duck
is that how its told now?
is it all so old?
is it made of lemon juice (?)
doorknob, ankle, cold
now my song is getting thin
I've run out of luck
time for me to retire now
and become a duck
2) The Badger Badger Badger song (click here).
i'm pretty amused by the total lack of substance and the even lack of attempt to put any substance in this song,
its ok, i know some boyband songs that are like that.
3) All your base are belong to us (please choose video 1)
If you're in the mood for some techno, this is really good.
It even has the same classic ahbeng's powderful england style.
and if u explore the website, u will see that there are really too many people with photoshop and way too much time on their hand.
geez, don't they have a thesis or two to write?
4) Everyone else has had more sex than me
I really like this.
Great flash. Its really of a music video quality.
with the close-in on face, posing, whatsoever.
And the bunny, u hv to agree, its cute.
In any case, the lyrics are great.
Anyone with this problem of the song, u can email me.
oh, sorry, i mean females only, of course.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sometimes, we are just too dumb to see the obvious.

You can't hide your real intentions/feelings, you may think that its pretty obvious to others, but others may be simply too confused to know.

1 whole year, i'm just taking it, word-for-word, hook and bait.

When they start taking everything u say without doubting it, then all the more you should guide them.

do not, deceive them for ages.

and yes, do not make rational decision for others.

rational decisions are meant to be made after discussion.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the perfect angel is meant to fly.
away.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

the bonsai is meant to die.

it doesn't deserve any care.

no amt of sorry is ever going to be enough for the bonsai carer.

sorry.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of the greatest casualty of the merger of the TV stations is my favourite TV show.
the only show I tuned in regularly. Even more regular than Friends.
Why?
Simple reason. Its one of the most top-rated show in Taiwan's showbiz.
Top-rated = EXPENSIVE
now that there is only 1 television media company, who cares if you are watching Channel U or Channel 8?
Why bother buying expensive programs to win the competition?
what competition? Malaysian TV3 ah?
Media Corp
MediaCorp Pte Ltd features prominently(of course PROMINENTLY lah, switch channel here and there, still see mediacorp) in the development of Singapore's broadcasting history. We commenced Radio broadcast on 1 June 1936 and Television on 15 February 1963. Today , MediaCorp is Singapore's largest and most established (how about the"ONLY") broadcaster with a complete range of media businesses spanning TV, Radio, Entertainment Productions, Movie Productions, Newspapers, Magazines, Electronic Media and other broadcasting services. As part of its content-driven strategy, it produces highly-rated multi-lingual and multi-genre local content with a regional reach. We are committed to remain as The Choice in Singapore and the region (definitely THE CHOICE).
Yup this is Singapore, the state with only 1 1 effective TV broadcaster, 1 newspaper company.
Only in Singapore will you open up the media industry BEFORE drafting the anti-competitive codes and rules.
Only in Singapore will you let the media industry suffers losses for years before drafting the anti-competitive codes, and then let the 2 TV broadcaster, newspaper companies merge.
Then the codes for who? for the chicken rice conglomeration ah?
Only in Singapore will the damn obvious "consumer benefits" be notably absent from the benefits and costs analysis of a merger.
What to do? All Singapore companies following the political party example, mah.
i will miss you....
And so the roadshow ends
By the middle of the 2nd roadshow, the number of consultants in the period between shift changes can swell to roughly 25, including managers.
Now now, imagine 25 jokers, lined up in near straight rows of whites and blacks.
Hey Macarena!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I just realised in one of the fund raising activities of Ren Chi Charity show, many artists did lots of push ups to induce phone calls.

Oh boy, still remember the time during the early army days.

entire company of soldiers, doing 120 push-ups in 1 shot.

"I want u guys to remember this magic number forever. 120!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was wondering abt the presence of huge concrete blocks around my company's office buildings.
To deter illegal parking? They could have use simple plastic barriers.
It had only occurred to me today.
anti-terrorism measure.
ah, the bonus of working for a well-loved company.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

One of those days.....

as I was preparing paper work to provide CPF health insurance for this, ahem, auntie, I let her know that this policy can be extended to immediate family members.

so she requested that I help her to apply the coverage for her son.

1st Warning Sign.

Wah, you got a son ah, can't tell leh.

*her hand on my arm* I'm a SINGLE mum.

2nd Warning Sign

So I will do a proper policy review for you. You bring all your policies, investment statements and reports, I will conduct a financial review for you.

Alright, this saturday?

What time is appropriate for you?

Anytime. I am off the whole day. Whats your handphone number?

*note: usually its not that easy to get a confirmed appointment, somemore a "anytime". And usually its agent that ask first for the contact number. Not client.*

3rd Warning Sign

Beside policy review, you can call me anything to date me out ah.

And so the day ends with a sms

"What time you working till today? And are you still single?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
yes! finalli a date...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm kidding & I'm spooked. I'm selling policies, not my body.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And so 2004 left. And 2005 came.
2004: Good to see you Cherub.
cherub: Yeh. It was nice having you around, but I can't say I am sadden by ur departure.
2004: *gash* how can u say tat! I tried my best for you.
cherub: best? best my ass lah.
2004: u got ur car! u woke up and smelled the rose. U got a lovely high-paying job! wat more do u want?
cherub: george bush won. enough said.
2004: aiyah, sorry for tat lah. I tried.
2005: harlow cherub! harlow 2004!
cherub *cheerily* : harlow!
2004 *sulks* : yeh
2005: good job 2004! u did a great job! thanks for passing me a much neater world.
2004: yeh yeh watever.
cherub: hey, can u do a better job for me? My thesis, for god's sake. my love life? (or lack therefore of) My job? my money? my investment!!!
2005: er....I'm only 1 year.
cherub: 2004 did a great job for me.
2004: that wasn't wat u said to me just now!
cherub: no point patronising u now tat u're history.
2004 sulks and leave the room
cherub: so 2005, make my investments make money. upgrade my job status. make my europe backpacking exciting and smooth. enhance my love life, my sex life, my academic life, my social life.
2005: !!!!!!
cherub: you can do it.
2005: u know. from 2004 records, u hv an awful high chance of car collusion, thesis failure. love life? wat love life?
cherub: err.
2005: investment? except for a few miserable dollars in ur policy, wat investments??
cherub: i was referring to my 4Ds and totos.
2005: oh.
cherub: so how?
2005: start "saka-ing" 2006.
Wednesday, January 5, 2005
and so the Pink Dollar speaks....
I take back everything nasty i said about the roadshow....
Yes, the macarena was embarassing.
And yes, I LED the dance. Twice.
I can't believe they made the mistake of asking forcing me to lead the dance twice. What with all my verbal instructions wrong, and my movements not unlike a stick insect freaking out.
A stick insect walking into a glass surface. Sounds damn familiar.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Not only is the roadshow, very profiting in terms of monetary gains, but you get to see many many different people.

First and for most, I love malays!!!

In general, Malays are quite polite and nice. They will listen to what you have to offer. And even if they are geniunely busy or not interested, they will smile and tell u politely.

Chinese?

Some of them don't even bother to listen to what you're gonna do.

not even a reply to "Happy New Year".

wei, I'm working my ass on new year day, I also need love leh.

*aiyah, cherub, when u're not working, u do the same also lah!*

haha. Ok lah, I'm a chinese, wad. :D

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the nicest comment I heard...from this chinese
"I always tell my mum, not to brush off these pple on the street. They are just working for their livelihoods, how will you feel if pple shoo me off in my job"
Wahliew, I am damn touched by him lah, almost offered him my soul.
of course, my managers insisted that I already sold, ahem, him, ahem, my body.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Scoldings from my manager.

"Cherub, You Stamford Raffles ah?"

Stamford Raffles: Stand there like a statue, looking at all the passerbys, and not doing anything.

"You still doing fortune-telling, is it..."

Fortune-telling: Looking at pple and judging them whether its worth your effort to approach them.

Before the roadshow, the managers warned us not to be fortune teller. You can't judge a book by its cover. Or rather, a person's wealth and needs by his dressings/looks.

Oh boy, no theory can teach you what a practical lesson can show you.

A colleague of mine approached this fat horizontally challenged guy for a shield insurance coverage and in the end the guy did a hefty sum of investment.

the customer told her frankly, right from the beginning, he knows he got a lump sum and he already want to do an investment. He was just going to give the business to the first consultant that approached him.

He walked one round around our booth, no one approached.

He walked 100m to a rival's booth and patrolled around it for 2 rounds, no one approached.

He walked back to our booth.

The deal was sealed on the spot.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One client I approached, had a very long discussion about his financial status and investment preferences with my manager and me.
At the end of the day, my manager told me that he had said some of the things in dicussion VERY LOUDLY so that my colleagues will be able to hear.
"Actually I saw your booth long time ago, everytime I walked past, i was thinking..ALL THESE PEOPLE WHO NEVER APPROACHED ME are idiots.....i would have made them very rich if they had approached me."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

now all my managers labelled mr K's client base specialising in "young girls" and Cherub as unorthodox in his specialised client base.

the Pink Dollar.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have no idea why.
Maybe its the numerous chat with Yamato.
Maybe its the frustration with the irritating and annoying motivation sessions.
maybe its some songs.
Maybe its the tears.
Sometimes you erect a layer of hard concrete around you, an impenetrable fortress, to hide the soft and vulnerable tissues.
sometimes you just get sick of tears and emotions.
sometimes u don't care if 150,000 pple died.
sometimes u just don't want pple to know how you feel.
Saturday, December 25, 2004
everybody...dance to the music...!!!
Hey Macarena!
Remember the silly macarena dancetrack?
Remember the silly macarena dance?
I DID THE MACARENA DANCE, FULL TRACK.
OUTSIDE TAMPINES MRT.
ON CHRISTMAS DAY.
TWICE.
*clap clap*
HEY macarena!!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Roadshow at Tampines. Focusing on medical insurance using CPF medisave.

And CPF investment.

"but cherub", you say, "what has CPF investment to do with macarena?"

HOW I KNOW? ASK THE MANAGERS LAH!!!!

Financial Service consultants that use window 95, may I add.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aye, actually the logic is this, if you dare to muster the courage to dance in the public (and such a ridiculous dance, may I add), you won't feel so paiseh & will face less restrictions in approaching and canvassing the public for deals.
In any case, the dance caught the attention of the public, one of which eventually closed a deal with this lady colleague of mine. In 1 day, she netted almost $1,700.
Hell, I will dance Macarena in Orchard if you pay me half of that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My only consolation, as always, it could have been worse

If we had danced the Ketchup Song, I will cry.

I tell you, insult the tomatoes and they will KILL you.

Seriously.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
in this line, you need tons of motivation and those peer talks, know what I mean?
Those "I am the best, I can do it" BLAH BLAH BLAH.
Yes yes, those are the lines that they keep on reinforcing to me, again and again.
And all I hear is, "BLAH BLAH BLAH".
I mean, I know this job takes patience and you must be able to hand rejections. (blah blah blah)
but i'm a cynical dude who hates motivation talk. save it dude. I motivate myself, and I hate those "special case" motivation.
"last road show, miss xxx earned $6500 in 1 day!!"
I know lah, there are bound to be a few talents and lucky ducks now and then, but don't use that to motivate me, I hate it. I know the law of large number. I know the idea of "a big fish in every 200 rejections". (blah blah blah)
don't motivate me. don't give me glorious war stories.
(blah blah blah)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Of course, the bad thing abt managers is that u tend to develop too close a talking r/s with her, and U forgot that she is YOUR BOSS.

hence, nxt time u wanna put down a product or motivation talks, take it from cherub.

SHUDDUP.

been there, done that.

{referring to the consequences of not shutting up}

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once again, I have proved that where cherub's academic results is concerned, hard work has a negative relationship with excellence.
i think this semester is the one that I put in the most effort. (yah yah, to those who I copied researched your tutorials, i know i may not be the most hardworking guy, heh heh, but I got study very hard, lah. REALLY.)
but the result is less rewarding than those semesters in which I really lazed till the cows gone home.
Lesson #47: The less effort you put in, the better your CAP
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think I'm soooooo gonna score in my thesis, judging from Lesson #47.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SHIT!!!
I just realised something...... no wonder I got such tough result in today roadshow!!!
OK tomorrow I shall SIT THERE AND WAIT for my sugar mummy to come in with her CPF statement.
"boy ah, i got $100,000 in my CPF, can help me invest in some safe funds?"
Tuesday, December 21, 2004
And so the F1 driver says
Stupid things I've done.
  • 1) Failed to unlock my car using the remote control system.
Was in a semi-state of confusion, wondering how the hell to get into my car. Until my friend pointed out that I alway use the normal key.
  • 2) Walk into a glass door
Now I know why glass doors in shopping centres have a strip of sticker across it. to make the glass door more visible!! Now now, I walked into a glass door with no stick, no knob, no handle. Just a glass door surrounded by a small frame of wood that mergered into the surrounding.
the door was locked and even got jolted out of its locked position, so u can imagine the sheer force one can impact on simply by walking into it.
Yah lah. the cut on my lip and the bumps on my head were from the knock.
  • 3) Telling WaRpEd and his brother that I walked into a glass door.
Enough said.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dangerous car stunts for the past week.

  • 1) Almost caused an accident.
At an unholy hour of abt 3 in the morning, did a sudden U-turn that almost crashed a scooter boy.

thank god he moved fast. Sorry!!!

  • 2) Driving against the traffic
Entered the bus lane near Funan (the special 1 lane that caters to a bus-stop at the side of the church). Nothing wrong with entering a bus lane at 1am.

Except that I entered against the correct flow of traffic.

and only realising it after driving till the end of the bus lane.

And I attempted to turn right into a "correct direction" road. Only to realise I'm driving against the traffic AGAIN.

so there u are, a car doing a circular anti-clockwise turn to the LEFT, in the middle of the traffic junction just in front of the Padang.

all these with no other cars around.

I'm a blessed motorist.

  • 3) Drove without the headlights in the middle of the night.
Twice. Thrice.

  • 4) Gave way to an ambulance.
OKOK, this may not be a great feat, but hey, at least i did something right as a motorist.

I'm a hero!

wenzi told me a rather meaningful story, abt Heaven and Hell.

Once someone in church asked,

"since all non-christians go to hell, what about great men like Buddha and Socrates?"
The priest could not answer this, for the bible holds no answer, so he turned to the bishop.

The bishop was equally puzzled and turned to the archbishop.

Well the archbishop was stunned by the question as well and decided to ponder about the question. In the end, he prayed for an answer and went off to bed.

He dreamt he was in at this train station, and there was this train moving, eh, up? so he took the train and alighted at another station. This was clearly heaven, he thought. He approached the station master and asked,

is this heaven?

yes, this is it.

have you been here for long?

for the past few thousand of years.

*excitingly* So do you know Buddha?

nope.

do you know Socrates?

nope.

so the archbishop was happy, as he clearly has the answer. Buddha and Socrates were clearly not known in Heaven.

Just then another train pass by, and since it moves in the opposite direction, he reckon it should be the train to hell. Curious, he boarded the train and arrives at the other train station, Hell. Surprisingly, it looked proper and decent.

He approached the station master and asked,

is this hell?

Yes, this is it.

Do you know Buddha?

Oh yes, he is a great man here.

Do you know Socrates?

Yes, he is one of my friends.

The archbishop was elevated, he got his answer. Clearly Buddha and Socrates, 2 great men did go to hell as all non-christians do.

but he was confused, this hell seems a bit too calm and serene.

Isnt this hell?

Yup.

Isn't there supposed to be a lot of suffering and hatred here?

Oh, that was 2000 years ago. And then Buddha came and changed the place.

Its not the place that make the man, but the man that make the place.

According to wenzi, one of the reason why pple may accuse me of being buaya *yes, she reads my blog apparently* is that I have a wide and prominent smile.

When I smile, its flashy and grabs attention.

so when I talk to girls, and I smile (natural wah. where got pple talk to girl cry one...)

and the smile reminds pple of a crocodile smirking when it spots its prey lapping water from the river.

wahliew.

Oh btw, I'm in a quarter-life crisis.

I don't know what I want in my life.

*ACTUALLY I know what I want in my life. Its just that they are out of my range.

Yang Cheng Lin, a ferrari, plenty of dough.

Geez, I hope santa is extra generous this year*

Ask yourself, how do you see yourself in 1 year's time? 5 years? 10 years?

Yourself as in your career, your love, your finances, your family, your friends.

I don't know what life wants out of me.
