Consensual sex acts between pair still considered bribes: DPP

EVEN if Ng Boon Gay and Ms Cecilia Sue were in a relationship, sexual encounters between them are still bribes, said Deputy Public Prosecutor Tan Ken Hwee yesterday.

Remind me never to marry a spouse holding a great public role and position.

I think this is carrying the torch too far. Though we are unable to know whether former CNB chief, Ng Boon Gay is innocent or just trying to worm his way out of this mess, a blanket definition of "consensual sexual encounters" as "bribes" is too wide.
Putting aside the moral arguments of sexual relationships, why should a man (or a woman) in an important job scope not be allowed to fornicate if there is no victims?
If Cecilia Sue is willingly looking for love or sex, and there is no bribery involved, then I guess it boils down to moral implications rather than criminal prosecutions.

I am sure any married man would do whatever he could to save his marriage, and also his "face", "family reputation" from being aired in public.

I think that the biggest victim in this case is the wife of Ng Boon Gay. I applaud her strength.
