Another China workers protest in Singapore

Tis the season to be protesting...
Fa la la la, la la la la....

From the Straits Times,

Two men, believed to be workers from China, perched themselves on top of a crane early Thursday morning in protest over owed wages.
The Straits Times understands that both men were slated to return home to China soon but were still owed one month's pay.
They have been sitting atop the crane since 8am.
Police were seen cordoning off the area in the vicinity of the industrial site along Jurong Port Road, as officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force launched rescue operations.

I think these are just the tips of the iceberg. Go google and you will find many blogs and activists' opinions that in Singapore, foreigner workers are easily exploitable because they are cheap, with 0 political power (refer to govt''s deportation of SMRT chinese workers over strike) and are easily forgotten by the public.

I only wish that locals are more sympathetic to workers who have to leave home for work far far away, just to earn a living.
