Latest update on the 2nd day of SMRT China Chinese Bus Drivers Strike
88 chinese still did not turn up for work today, with many taking MCs (Medical Certificates). In fact, it was so serious that SMRT sent down medics to check on their MC and their medical certificates

Almost all the mainstream media uses words like "sit-ins" and "refuse to go to work" etc to refer to this strike, now a minister has officially called it a "strike", albeit an "illegal strike".

The SMRT bus drivers' action on Monday was an illegal strike and will be dealt with, says Acting Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin.
Police are investigating.
He is speaking at an ongoing Ministry of Manpower press conference on the SMRT saga. Also present are Minister of State for Transport Josephine Teo and senior officials from the manpower and transport ministries.
